Things You Might Like

Gee’s grandfather’s Buck Knife used to gently halve peach tartlets and to baton wood. it’s a slimmer, more nimble alternative to the chunkier classic 119.

Whiskey stones which are GREAT in a van when you don’t have an ice cube tray. They also don’t melt into water when the freezer isn’t cold enough!

The fire striker Cee uses to make campfires like the Survivor fan she is.

Cee’s Nut Case Helmet to look styling on the trails.

Intex Inflatable Kayak K2 – used to kayak around Lone Rock but not seen because we had no GoPro at the time of filming.

Norco Bigfoot Fatbike (no affiliation), in case you’re interested in the fatty.

Touring Sedona and the Grand Canyon – #Back2Van

In This Video

We headed up through New Mexico to Arizona where we visited Sedona and then toured the Grand Canyon.
While in Sedona, we tried out the biking trails and there was a short bit of single track at the end of the Bell Rock trail that got us excited for Moab.
Sit around the fire with us for a recap of the adventures before this…
There is amazing free camping only 10 mins from the Grand Canyon gates!
Now this is how to live the van life.

Tales from Texas – #Back2Van

Special Note

Our thoughts are with the folks in the path of Hurricane Harvey. We traveled through Corpus Christi and Padre Island on through Louisiana back in March and these were some of our favourite places to visit.
Visit here for updates on the hurricane’s path: http://google.org/crisismap/2017-harvey.
And it’s always a good idea to donate to the Red Cross to help those in crisis: http://www.redcross.org/.

In This Video

From the shores of Newfoundland, we tell our tales of traveling through Texas. From New Orleans on to Padre Island and then over to Big Bend National Park where we contemplated swimming over to Mexico!

This place felt like it was in the middle of nowhere but was only about 20 min outside of Battle Mountain, Nevada. Gorgeous free BLM campsite. Big night full of stars.

The Arches National Park was one of the most interesting places we’ve EVER visited. Our experience had an additional sombre note to it when we reached the top.

Coolest little campsite in Nebraska town. VLOG 19. VANLIFE 13.

Filmed Oct 21, 2016
The summer weather followed us through most of the trip and we were actually able to jump on the bikes for a fun ride around small town Nebraska.
Streeter Park in Aurora, Nebraska is a full service campground with about 19 sites. Free for 4 days or by donation. GPS: 40.87305, -98.00277. Browse our other boondocking spots on our Google Map embedded below the video.

Creepy camping to awesome Chicago! VLOG 17. VANLIFE 11.

Filmed Oct 16 to 19, 2016

We arrived at what felt like a strange gated community in Pennsylvania. When we checked in there was a sign inside the office that said “no spitting”. But it was a gated community. And then it was foggy, humid, and just felt weird.

The next day we arrived in Chicago where we parked on the street in front of our friend’s parent’s house close to a subway line straight to downtown. What a time!

Cat Hates Van Life. VLOG 14. VANLIFE 09.

Filmed Oct 11 & 12, 2016
Other than the emotional roller coaster, the Bay of Fundy national park campground was amazing. We nabbed a spot that had wifi and full service for RVs for a really reasonable price. Unfortunately, Midnight Squall the Darkness thwarted our travel plans.

Readying the Van for #vanlife. VLOG 11. VANLIFE 05.

Filmed late September/early October, 2016

Gee highlights many of the upgrades we made to the van to make our lives easier on the road. You’ll see how to mount mason jars for canisters, how to use “peel n’ stick” vinyl as a decor feature and what we did to give Midnight, our cat, a hidy-hole and entrance to her litter box.
